The Sacred Valley of the Incas is one of the most beautiful and historically well visited places of Peru. In those times, the Valley was one of the bases of Incan empire, the river that winds its way through believed to be aligned with the cosmos. The valley is also home to many indigenous people living the same way they have been for centuries and it’s possible to visit local markets and communities. Explore the best places such as the land of the rainbow of Chinchero, Moray, the ancient salt mines of Maras and also discover the ancient Incan citadel of Machu Picchu with our expert private guide who’ll make the ruins come alive with history.

Stop At: Sacred Valley of the Incas, 0051 Peru
Guiding you through to the fertile Sacred Valley, once the spiritual and commercial heartland of the Inca Empire. You will be collected from your hotel by your expert, local guide and private vehicle to be driven firstly to Chinchero, on this site we will appreciate the Inka walls that are very well preserved in the main square as well as many altars directed to the four cardinal points. We will also visit the beautiful colonial church, unique for its work of art. Continuing, we will participate in a wonderful exposition of Andean weaving art; During the weaving we will become familiar with the wisdom of Andean weavings, such and as they are maintained long before Inka times.

Our next stop is going to be Moray, Inca terraces for some soft hiking in these spectacular landscapes, which has been proven to be an experimental center for understanding the various climates and temperatures of different crops or agricultural plants, perhaps even used for domestication of different crops. After exploring Moray, we will descend lower in elevation to the salt mines of Maras, an important production center dating back to pre-Inca times. Here there are over 3,000 salt pools carved into the mountain side, filled daily by water seeping from the Earth, what we call the tears of Mother Earth!

Finally we will desend to base of the Sacred Valley to the living town of the Incas “Ollantaytambo” where we are going to board our train to Machupicchu town.

Ok, this is a review that most folk's will go "yeah right".... but we really had a wonderful time being with our tour guide Jr! He was with us for two day's and made arrangement's for everything and it's was totally Awesome! We had the best food, which was local Peruvian cuisine! Also the accommodations in Machu Picchu city was were also very nice! We entrusted our trip and vacation to INTI Peruvian Adventures. Jr's the Man! He know's the History and was very patient with us and me for that matter because of my limited mobility.... I would give these guys a better rating but it only goes to 5 star. Driving around Peru is a feat in it's self! Crazy Road Ways! But I felt Safer with INIT vs. another Transportation companies.......... Thanks again...

We opted for an organised tour to ensure access to Machu Picchu, we cannot fault the organisation whilst in country by "Peru Adventures", there were however some concerns prior to departure from the UK as the operator "Viatour" sent emails late and required some chasing. we were met by the "Peru Adventures" rep the night before to explain the following two days itinerary. The sacred valley tour whilst a little interesting was by no means the highlight and we could of perhaps done without this. I would suggest that the Viator amend the website to explain that the cost of the entrance for the sacred valley tour $25 needs to be in local currency as this is all they accept. If your thinking of upgrading to the Vistadome train you may wish to confirm train times as it gets dark early and we would have been disappointed had we upgraded. The hotel that was included in the deal was adequate, but the evening meal for some bizarre reason was not in the hotel, but half way across town, which posed a problem for us trying to return as all bridges were closed for an hour. Our guide for the two days was excellent, very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. I'm unsure who arranges the train tickets, "this may be out of the tour operators control" however the return trip we and many others were not allocated seats together. This was rectified by passengers moving around by themselves. This may be something the operator may wish to investigate.
