It is a traditional folk village located in Pungcheon-myeon, Andong-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do. There are 11 buildings designated as cultural properties, including 2 treasures and 9 national folk cultural properties, and 2 national treasures.

At the 34th meeting of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee (WHC) in Brasilia, Brazil, on July 31, 2010, it was confirmed that it was registered as a World Heritage Site along with Gyeongju Yangdong Village

It is at the end of the Taebaeksanmaek Mountain Range and is one of the best tourist attractions in Hahoe Village where you can see the entire village from the top, and the name Buyongdae is derived from Chinese ancient history, and Buyong means lotus. At first, it was called Bukae, which means a hill in the north of Hahoe. Okyeonjeongsa Temple, Gyeomamjeongsa Temple, and Hwacheon Seowon are located where the Nakdonggang River meanders.

In the cities where Andongho Lake, Imha Lake, Nakdonggang River, and Banbyeoncheon Stream flow, water fog rises in the morning and evening, creating a dreamy atmosphere. Andong Dam area is one of the best water fog landscapes in Andong-si that are frequently encountered. At the entrance of the outdoor museum in Andong Folk Village, two Jangseungs are welcoming, and then their steps are moved to the front of the quarrel of Yi Yuk-sa, a literary man born by Lee Go-go. His signature work, "The wilderness," is engraved on the monument. Poet Lee Yuk-sa, whose real name is Wonrok, was born in Wonwon-dong, Dosan-myeon in 1904. After entering the Beijing Military Academy, he returned to Korea and was imprisoned for three years in Daegu Prison for being involved in the bombing of the Daegu branch of the Chosun Bank.
