Day Trip: Truffle Hunting With Lunch + Montefalco guided tour

We will learn everything about truffle and the ancient tradition of looking for this precious tuber thanks to the wise guide of our expert truffle hunter and his loyal hound. We will have a delicious lunch with tasting of Umbrian products and truffle in the wood, in a beautiful location away from the caos of the city.
In the afternoon, you will have the opportunity to visit Montefalco, the balcony of Umbria, accompanied by our private guide. Montefalco which counts with numerous attractions and wonderful panoramic viewponts. From its many viewpoints, it is possible to admire a 360-degree panorama over the entire valley between Perugia and Spoleto, from the slopes of the Sub-Apennines to those of the Martani Mountains. Montefalco is one of those villages in Umbria not to be missed!
Truffle hunting in Umbria is an old age tradition. Umbria produces the highest number of black truffles in Italy, whose quality is famous throughout the world. That of the truffle hunter, is a hard work made of deep love for the land, intelligent observation, waiting and great satisfaction. We will take advantage of his wise guide, assisted by an incomparable four-legged scout, to learn the secrets of this noble tuber, through a naturalistic path of great beauty. At the end of the experience, lunch with a food and wine tasting in the woods.
After lunch, we will reach Montefalco, the balcony of Umbria, for an interesting guided visit of this wonderful ancient village. The village, which develops in a halo of suggestive cobbled alleys all around the wonderful central square, boasts numerous points of great interest: the city walls, Torre del Verziere, Church of Sant’Agostino, Piazza del Comune, Church of Santa Chiara and the magnificent museum complex of San Francesco, built by the Friars Minor between 1335 and 1338. It houses spectacular frescoes by Benozzo Gozzoli depicting episodes from the life of St. Francis, and numerous other works of great beauty and inestimable value.
