Day Trip: Truffle Hunting With Lunch + Oil Mill Visit With Tasting

Thanks to this day trip, you will have the opportunity to delve into the Umbrian food and wine traditions. In the morning, together with the truffle hunter and his loyal truffle hound, you will learn everything regarding the truffle: the different types of truffle, the seasons in which they grow, their cultivation, their value, the tools that are necessary to take them out of the ground, and much more about this ancient Umbrian tradition at a beautiful location in the middle of the nature that characterizes our region. At the end of the truffle hunt a delicious tasting of truffle and other typical products - wine included.
In the afternoon, you will visit a renowned oil mill and winery and there, you will have an interesting guided tour in which you will learn all the details regarding the Umbrian production of olive oil and its wine traditions, followed by a tasting of their products.

Truffle hunting in Umbria is an old age tradition. Umbria produces the highest number of black truffles in Italy, whose quality is famous throughout the world. Truffles are an integral part of Umbrian cuisine and culture. That of the truffle hunter, is a hard work made of deep love for the land, intelligent observation, waiting and great satisfaction. We will take advantage of his wise guide, assisted by an incomparable four-legged scout, to learn the secrets of this noble tuber, through a naturalistic path of great beauty. Tasting of truffle and Umbrian products and lunch at the end of the experience.
The extra virgin olive oil, known as green gold, probably is the most representative product among the delights of Umbrian gastronomy, made of simple, genuine and savory food. We’ll visit a renowned oil mill where we could learn about the production process of olive oil, from cultivation, to harvesting, pressing and use of the product. At the end, we will enjoy a delicious tasting.
