This trek was awesome. My boyfriend and I had an incredible adventure with all the activities and the final destination, Machu Picchu, was absolutely breathtaking. Our guide, Edwin, was the man. He communicated clearly the expectations of the trek; was endlessly helpful in arranging transportation/other services; and has knowledge and passion for Peruvian history that enhanced the trip greatly. The hostels/hotels were really nice, clean, and had hot water showers. The owner, William, visited our hostel before the trip to answer any questions, and checked in through out to make sure we were enjoying the trek. We felt we were in very good hands.

Stuff to know: read the “inclusions/exclusions” carefully. For instance, the trek includes entrance to Machu Picchu, but you’d have to book in advance additional mountain hiking (physically laborious Machu Picchu mountain/ Huayna Picchu). For the 3-day trek, you will need to book a bus or train back from Aguas Calientes. The tour guides will help you book passage.

Ultimately, we loved our trek with Peru Travel Company. If you’re looking for extra adventure on your way to see Machu Picchu, this is it. So much fun and memories to last.

Trek essentials: extra cash, toilet paper, sunblock, bug spray (30% deet), a couple extra changes of clothes because the weather is unpredictable and can leave you soaked in an instant and sunburnt the next.

        Qualificação Geral: 10/10
