The Braco Stables Hike and Bike Excursion! Where it’s all about having fun, experiencing the land, learning about Jamaica’s indigenous flora and fauna all with the added bonus of getting fit.
The Braco Hike and Bike Excursion begins with an energizing sightseeing walk. You may power along or stroll at your preferred pace up the moderate incline of Braco Hill, then through a canopied tropical forest which is a haven for the Island’s fascinating variety of birds and butterflies. The view from our Look Out Point is spectacular! Take a moment here to pause, exhale and slowly drink in the panoramic sweep of the magnificent coastline and the grassy sun-kissed hills and valleys of the hinterland.
The tour continues along Pimento Walk where the fragrance of All-Spice (a premium island export in a bygone era) sweetens the air, and luxuriant sprays of exotic wild orchids abound. Then you'll move forward through lush, tranquil pastures warmed by the sun, and down shady trails bordered with tufts of soft ferns. There surely is no better way to invigorate body and spirit than in this inspiring natural setting!
This 2-mile hike takes approximately 60 minutes to complete with an elevation change of approximately 300 to 400 feet. Our friendly and experienced guides will accompany, you throughout, and there is absolutely no speed limit.
Now its time to rev it up a notch and get those muscles toned and taut! On this leg of the tour you are invited to take a fun and relaxing 30-minute bicycle ride over gently undulating terrain, past the stables, through sun-drenched hedgerows of vibrant bougainvillea and local farmland. You will cycle until you have reach the beach and head for the beach with its gentle, welcoming waves. You may wish to enjoy a cool, refreshing dip before cycling back to Braco Estate where your tour ends.
