Birding in Garibaldi Pass

This tour is designed to focus on the White-bellied Snipe, a mythical bird of the Patagonian-Fueguinian Andes that inhabits the high Andean valleys from September to April. Ushuaia is one of the best places and opportunities to observe this bird. Our staff has specialized for many years in recording and studying bird movements in its habitat.

Wonderful experience for bird enthusiasts and nature lovers. The landscape you described was diverse and beautiful, with different types of forests and valleys. The Garibaldi Pass seems like a great spot for searching for the white-bellied Seedsnipe (the highlight).
Birding in the Garibaldi pass has been designed with a focus on the High Andes vegetation, and several species of birds can be seen.
Birds: Flightless Steamer-Duck, White-throated Caracara, White-bellied Seedsnipe, Skua, Oustalet΄s Cinclodes, Buff-winged Cinclodes, Thorn-tailed Rayadito, Ochre-naped Ground-Tyrant, Dark-faced Ground-Tyrant, Austral Thrush, Yellow-bridled Finch, etc
We drive through National Route number 3 to the east. We go out of the city and the landscape changes completely: ranges, valleys, peat bogs, beaver dams, forests of high deciduous beech (length), low deciduous beech (ñires), and evergreen beech (coihues) will surprise us. In the Garibaldi Pass (430 m above sea level), we hike up to pass the timberline. This is the ideal place to search the White-bellied Seedsnipe (habitat 600/900 over see level).
