Walking with the Lions in Fathala Reserve

A march with the lions is not a common tour. There are only six countries in the World ,where ,you can have such a delight full with with sensation .An entire immersion in local culture is guaranteed ,with the exploration of the village and the initiation to some of their activities like : the pounding of millet .A rare moment to learn about their culture. .Then You will have to explore one of the country's most beauty market: Kaolack's Central .Thus you will see Africa under another angle ,with its colours and uniqueness. You will the amulet maker ,and the shoes workshop and many local products. A boat ride on the river Saloum ,going through the huge mangrove ,seeing the oysters at the roots of the trees , and doing also some birdwatching.Then the next day ,we head to Fathala Animals Reserve for our long awaited walk with the lions .After a briefing ,given by the rangers .You will start !!!



Itinerary

Day 1: Exploration of Kaolack Central Market and Boat riding on the Saloum Rover

Stop At: Le Relais Hotel, 4WJ8+4VC, Kaolack, Senegal
At Kaolack ,exploration of the Central Market .Kaolack is a crossroad very close to the Gambia .When visit the market ,you will see the colours and beauty of an African .There you will the typical shops and workshops of the shoes makers ,the sellers of animals skins such as lions ,monkeys ,snakes.and so on that here people use to make their amulets. You will also see the amulets markers ,the african fabrics sellers,the fruits and vegetables sellers.Broadly a very colorful market and also the motobikes use as taxi .Kaolack is also the capital city of peanuts. That's why at a time of the year ,you can see ," mountains of peanuts.Before arriving at Kaolack ,we visit a village ,therefore a real immersion in local culture.For instance ,the villagers will teach you how to pound the millet ,they use to make couscous. Lunch at Le Relais Hotel Upon arrival at Toubacouta in Keur Saloum Hotel ,we will have boat riding to explore the area ,which is world heritage going through the huge mangrove for birdwatching .There,you can see :the giant kingfisher ,the pied kingfisher, the osprey ,the palm but vulture,the marsh barrier ,the Goliath heron ,the great white heron ,the white breasted cormoran, and so on .Diner and overnight at Keur Saloum in half boarf

Day 2: The Walk with the Lions

Stop At: Fathala Reserve, Foundiougne Senegal
After breakfast ,we move southwards ,towards the Gambian border. Upon arrival at Fathala Animals Reserve ,a ranger will give a briefing about the walk with the Lions and then we start that sensational and pleasure adventure ,with the escort of the rangers
