San Miguel de Allende is often known as a retreat with tourist art & luxury resorts. But I am here to tell you that we have a thriving underground art scene that supports new ideas where liberated artists experiment with freedom of expression. Wanna be a part of it?

Imagine yourself walking into a gallery where mysterious shamans, masked women & cougars roam. I will begin a 40 minute bilingual tour of my contemporary myth paintings, their meanings and process with a drink in your hand. Afterwards we will continue our tour to 2 alternative artsy bars/clubs where you can enjoy Pre Hispanic drinks, mezcals, tequilas and other far out Mexican drinks at a reasonable price. Listen and dance to a variety of alternative music from Mexican indie rock, ska or neo-cumbia to international electronica. See Low Brow Mexican sculptures and Urban-Neomexicanismo Murals.. Enjoy good conversations that are uplifting, exotic & fun. In other words, be free and get inspired! English & Spanish spoken.

Stop At: Galeria Nepantla, Calle Pablo Yanez 9 Colonia Independencia, San Miguel de Allende 37732 Mexico

Isis Rodriguez will begin her bilingual tour as a performative & interactive experience, in which she introduces the concept of "nepantla" and her archetypes.

The artist will reveal some of the symbolism behind her controversial and contemporary mythology. She will demonstrate the intricate process of how she creates her paintings. The audience is free to ask questions and participate in philosophical conversations.

At the end of your tour, enjoy taking a seat, and the artist will do a portrait drawing of you and signed.
