The Bigi Pan nature reserve is famous for its coastal birds: 72 species have their own fixed stay, including the red ibis, the osprey, the tern and various waders.
Another 50 other species visit the area as passers-by.
Bigi Pan is a true paradise for birdwatchers and other nature lovers.

Itinerary

Day 1: Going West! District Wanica, Coronie and Nickerie

Stop At: Groningen, Groningen, Saramacca District
You make a stop in the historic town of Groningen where, as the name suggests, Dutch farmers set foot ashore around 150 years ago.
Duration: 5 minutes

Stop At: Totness, Totness, Coronie District
Then the ride continues to it Coconut district Coronie where you will find some remaining typical wooden houses and churches come across.
Duration: 5 minutes

Stop At: Nickerie District, Nickerie District
In Nickerie you visit a rice company.
In Nieuw Nickerie, also called the two city of Suriname, you have the opportunity to drink and eat something. You go along the public market and if there is still time is a visit to the seawall.

Afterwards you will take a relaxing boat trip on the river past mangrove trees.
Arrived on Bigipan at the Eco Lodge, which is located in the middle of the large water surface is there the opportunity to kayak or to relax in the hammock.
To the at the end of the afternoon the guide will take you by boat to spot birds and you can enjoy the beautiful sunset. In the evenings, after the hot meal is there an exciting boat trip to spot caimans and other wild animals.

Day 2: Mud bath and bird watching

Stop At: Nickerie District, Nickerie District
Enjoying a wonderful breakfast by the water, you have a beautiful view
the Bigi Pan water surface. If the water level is high enough, we will sail after it
breakfast to the beach on the Atlantic, where we will have a mud bath
take. This is a special experience that you should definitely not miss. Moreover it is
taking a mud bath good for the skin! Here there is also the opportunity to
swimming.
Once back at the Eco lodge you have time for yourself and there is the opportunity
to relax in the hammock. After a warm lunch we return to
Paramaribo. You have the feeling that you have been completely gone for a while!
Duration: 6 hours
