Stop At: Chinatown Gate, N.W. 4th Ave. and Burnside St., Portland, OR 97209

The Chinatown Gates are the entrance to Portland’s Old Chinatown.

These gates were built in Taiwan as a gesture of goodwill from the Chinese community and then shipped to Portland where they were presented to the city in 1986.

Stop At: Portland Oregon Sign, 70 NW Couch St, Portland, OR 97209-4038

Since its installation, the sign has changed quite often, depending on who owned the building at the time. If you saw the sign in 1950, it read “White Satin Sugar" and was animated to show the state filling with sugar.

Stop At: Skidmore Fountain, Southwest First Avenue and Ankeny Street, Portland, OR 97204

The Skidmore Fountain was named after Stephen G. Skidmore, a wealthy druggist who bequeathed $5,000 for a fountain to provide drinking water for humans, horses, and dogs, not necessarily in that order. It’s Portland's oldest piece of public art.

The Kells Irish Pub has been serving food and drink since 1983 and while it has not been here very long the building it’s housed in has stood for over a century and Kells has been named one of the most haunted places in Oregon.

The cavernous space is home to a bunch of great restaurants serving everything from burgers and barbecue to ramen and tapas. There’s something for everyone here. And, like many places in Portland, it has history. The Pine Street Market is located in the historic Carriage and Baggage Building.

Stop At: Voodoo Doughnut - Old Town, 22 SW 3rd Ave, Portland, OR 97204, USA

Voodoo donuts founders, Kenneth “Cat Daddy” Pogson and Tres Shannon, wanted to start a business that combined hospitality with lots of flash and fun. Stunned that there were no doughnuts shops in Downtown Portland, and even more stunned that policemen never pointed this out to them, the partners decided to open a doughnut shop of their own. And so, in 2003, they rented a funky storefront and got to work.
