Just an hour’s drive from Turin, the Langhe is an idyllic corner of rolling hills covered in vineyards and fascinating villages that produce some of Italy’s great wines like Barolo and Barbaresco. During this full-day tour a private driver will take you to some of the region’s top sights, starting from the charming medieval town of Alba, Italy’s truffle capital. You will visit also La Morra, the region’s highest village with sweeping views over the surrounding landscape, the delightful hamlet of Vergne and the castle of Grinzane Cavour that once belonged to Italy’s first prime minister, the Count of Cavour. Along the way, you will enjoy two tasting sessions at renowned wine estates to learn more about the wines produced here, as well as a traditional lunch in the magical setting of a local winery.

Stop At: Alba, Alba, Province of Cuneo, Piedmont

It is considered the capital of the UNESCO Human Heritage hilly area of Langhe, and is famous for its white truffle and wine production. Of the Roman city, which had a polygonal form, parts of the fortified gate and remains of some edifices with marble and mosaics can still be seen. Alba was once known as the "City with hundred towers".

The Langhe is a hilly area to the south and east of the river Tanaro in the province of Cuneo in Piedmont. It is famous for its wines, cheeses, and truffles—particularly the white truffles of Alba. On 22 June 2014, a part of the Langhe was inscribed on UNESCO's World Heritage list for its cultural landscapes, outstanding living testimony to winegrowing and winemaking traditions that stem from a long history, and that have been continuously improved and adapted up to the present day.


Stop At: La Morra, La Morra, Province of Cuneo, Piedmont

La Morra is a small town near Alba in Piedmont. Here you can find vast vineyards of Nebbiolo, an Italian red wine grape variety that makes the wines of Barolo, Barbaresco, Roero, Gattinara, Carema and Ghemme. Nebbiolo is thought to derive its name from the Italian nebbia or Piedmontese nebia, meaning "fog".

The Castle of Grinzane Cavour is a fortification in Grinzane Cavour, Piedmont. It was under several lords, the most famous of which was, in the mid-19th century, Camillo Benso, Conte di Cavour, who resided here starting from 1830. Cavour restored the construction and improved the vine cultivations in the area.
