Mikumi National Park and the Udzungwa Mountains is one one the parks which located in the southern circuit. Most visitors come to Mikumi National Park aiming to spot the ‘Big Five’ (cheetah, lion, elephant, buffalo, and rhino), and they are always not disappointed. Hippo pools provide close access to the mud-loving beasts, and bird-watching along the waterways is particularly rewarding. Mikumi National Park borders the Selous Game Reserve and Udzungwa National Park, and the three locations make a varied and pleasant safari circuit.

Itinerary

Day 1: Dar es salaam City to Mikumi National Park

Stop At: Mikumi National Park, Mikumi National Park, Morogoro Region
Pick you from Dar – es – Salaam airport, Hotel, ferry or home in the morning and travel 283km to Mikumi National Park. Breakfast stop at the restaurant in Msolwa then proceeds with a drive to the park. Hot lunch to be served from the restaurant. You will have an evening game drive until sunset. This is a home to Elephant, Lion, Wild dog, Zebras, Hyena, Buffalo, Wildebeest, Eland, Hartebeest, Crocodile, Lizard and other residents. Over 300 species of birds have been observed in this park. Dinner and overnight will be at Tanapa Banda. After dinner leave again for 3 hours night game drive inside the park

Day 2: Mikumi Park to Udzungwa Mountains

Stop At: Udzungwa Mountains National Park, Udzungwa Mountains National Park, Iringa Region
Early Morning game viewing in the park, Mikumi’s vegetation includes woodland, swamp and grassland with two water holes, Mkata and Chamgore. Apart from the saddle-bill stork, hammer kop and malachite kingfisher, you will also find monitor lizard and a deadly python inhabiting the pools. Back for hot lunch and rest in the hotel. After lunch, drive 70km away to Udzungwa Mountains Park. On arrival, you will check-in at the hotel then drives to the park gate where you will start your trekking to Prince Bernard Waterfall and finish your day with Village walk at Mangula village. Dinner and overnight at Udzungwa Twiga Hotel.

Day 3: Udzungwa Mountains to Dar-es-salaam

Stop At: Dar Es Salaam Region, Dar Es Salaam Region
After breakfast, start walking in this beautiful Park enjoying and experience the stunning natural beauty of the park. Picnic lunch in the bush then proceed to explore the area wonderful Sanje waterfall endemic Red Colobus Monkey and beautiful scenery Lunch to be served at the Sanje Viewpoint after that you will descend and meet the car, Start drive back to Dar es salaam where you will arrive late evening. We drop you off at the hotel of your choice or home.
