Once you arrive in Santiago Atitlan, our expert guide will be waiting for you to start this adventure. We want this to be an experience where you have contact with the people of the community and for this, we will take you with a resident of Santiago Atitlan, he will take us on his Kayuko (artisanal boat with paddle) and take us to the planting area.

Planting Area: When we get to the plantation area, you will see the incredible plant located on the shores around the entire Lake Atitlan. We talk about the Tul plant. This is of great importance for the community since it helps to fight the bacteria that attack the lake, it also works as a natural filter and helps to purify the water, in addition to being the habitat of different marine animals and birds. We cannot ignore the importance of this plant for the indigenous community since with it they make different crafts such as rugs, baskets, among others. The handicrafts help people in the community with economic income and tourists who buy souvenirs to make memories of their visit to Guatemala.
