Stop At: Metropolitan Cathedral of San Salvador, 2a Calle Oriente, San Salvador, El Salvador

This is one of the most respected sites by the citizens. Many parishioners come here to consecrate their faith. It is undoubtedly a jewel of the city, worthy of being visited and its works to be appreciated.

This site is still considered a memorial for archbishop Oscar Romero, who spoke in favor of human rights and the poorest during the late 1970s.

Stop At: National Palace, Palacio Nacional de El Salvador, 4a Calle Poniente, San Salvador, El Salvador

The National Palace is just a few meters away. It is a neoclassical architecture predominate construction built in the early 20th century, however art nouveau, Gothic, and Renaissance architectural styles can also be seen in some decorative features.

We'll go into the National Palace's building so you may admire the exquisite interior design, the art, and the importance of this building through history.

The historic district's core is where this plaza is situated. The city's expansion specifically from this point began in the 16th century and continued till today.

The Angel of Independence, erected in this plaza in 1911 to mark El Salvador's first century of independence, may be seen there. Two laurel wreaths, one in each hand, are held by this angel.

Barrio Morazan: This is one of the most historic and commemorative neighborhoods of the city of San Salvador.

It may be found right in the center of the Historic Center. This church's architecture is entirely distinct from the style often used to create catholic buildings.

This church is a treasure of the city's historic district. From 1964 to 1971, a total of 7 years were spent creating its one-of-a-kind structure.

Some people may not find the design to be very stunning from the outside, but once inside, we can appreciate its 22-meter-high ceiling and beautiful, big windows.

Inside the church, we see many wrought iron works of art. The wrought iron used in the works were originally firearms used in the civil war. After the Peace Accords, these weapons were melted down and used to decorate the church artistically and to re-signify the use of these weapons.
