The first stop on your half-day tour is Chung Cheng Park, the most ubiquitous tourism symbol of Keelung City.
The park is situated on the hill at the east side of Keelung Harbor, consisting of three levels. The 1st level has a historic canon fort and several outdoor exercise equipments; the 2nd level locates the Buddhist library, the Keelung Martyrs Shrine and Zhuputan Temple, where the annual salvation ceremony “Chungyuan Pu Tu” takes place; the 3rd level is where the giant statue of Goddess of Mercy stands, the landmark of Chung Cheng Park, and also the biggest goddess statue in Southeast Asia. On the 3rd level, you can also expect the stunning panoramic view of Keelung City and the harbor.

The next stop on your tour is Keelung Maritime Plaza. The plaza was built with wooden planks and offers beautiful views over the entire Keelung Inner Harbor. You can also see the enormous cruise ships berthing alongside the wharf.
It is a wonderful place to take a walk and enjoy the refreshing sea breeze, or sit in a coffee shop nearby and immerse in the maritime atmosphere.

Your tour to Yehliu Geopark and Taiwan’s north coast continues with a visit to Guihou, a small fishing village, also the home to “Wanli crabs” (the wild sea crabs caught off Wanli District, New Taipei City).
Every year during autumn, there are always large crowds flock to buy the fresh and live Wanli crabs in Guihou Fisherman's Market. Today, Guihou Fishing Harbor is known for Wanli crabs, and has become one of the busiest harbors along the north coast. If you are not visiting in season, no worries, the fisherman’s market provides various choices of fresh seafood with affordable prices. Even if you are not here for the seafood, you can get a glimpse of the rural life of Taiwan in this idyllic fishing village.

Lastly, the highlight of your tour—Yehliu Geopark, one of the premier attractions in the northern coast of Taiwan, the home to a number of unique rock formations caused by wind and sea, such as the mushroom rocks, the chessboard rock, the trace fossils and all that.
The most famous rock formation is the iconic “Queen’s Head”, a mushroom rock that resembles the profile of England’s Queen Elizabeth. Every year, the “Yehliu Night Tour” features light shows, water projection, etc, attracting over ten thousands visitors flock to see the Queen’s Head illumined at night.
Besides the Queen’s Head, other remarkable formations such as the Sea Candles, the Fairy Shoe, the Ginger Rocks, the Elephant Rock, the Ice Cream Rock, the Kissing Rock, and the Princess’ Head, are worth taking a look at.
