Itinerary

Day 1: Taipei – Hualien – Taitung

Stop At: Taiwan Railways, Taipei Taiwan
Depart from Taipei in the morning with your tour guide, today you will take the TRA train to the east coast and discover the last unspoiled land of Taiwan. Just sit back, relax and enjoy the ever-changing scenery through the window. Your driver will be waiting at the train station upon your arrival.
Duration: 3 hours

Stop At: Fanshuliao, No. 18, Fangliaoken, Shuilian Vil., Shoufeng Township, Shoufeng Taiwan
On the way to East Coast National Scenic Area, you will stop by Fanshuliao, a unique canyon also regarded as a small version of Taroko Gorge.
Duration: 15 minutes

Stop At: Shitiping, Fengbin Township, Hualien County, Taiwan 977
Your next stop is Shitiping (literally stone steps), a well-developed sea erosion terrace. The promontories along the coastline eroded by sea water over millions of years, resulted in the abrasion platform, the sea grooves, the sea cliffs, and the potholes that we see today. Therefore, Shitiping is also considered a world-class outdoor geology classroom.
Duration: 20 minutes

Stop At: Sanxiantai, Chenggong Township 961 Taiwan
Then you will visit Sanxientai (literally the terrace of the three immortals), which is composed of an offshore island and coral reefs. The cross-sea bridge that connects the mainland and the island is an iconic landmark of the East Coast National Scenic Area.
Duration: 30 minutes

Stop At: Ami Indigenous Culture Art Center, No. 25, Xincun Rd., Chenggong Township, Chenggong Township Taiwan
Lastly, you will visit Amis Folk Center, a cultural center that displays a collection of architecture, art and music of the Amis, the largest indigenous ethnic group in Taiwan. Through the performing arts and crafts, visitors can experience the traditional lifestyles of the Amis.

Day 2: Taiting – Hualien

Stop At: East Rift Valley National Scenic Area, No. 168, Sec. 2, Xinghe Rd., Hegang Vil., Ruisui Township, Ruisui Taiwan
After breakfast, you will travel along the East Rift Valley, a long and narrow valley extending from Hualien to Taitung. The three natural river systems including Hualien River, Xiuguluan River and Beinan River run through the valley and created different types of landforms.

Stop At: Lu Yeh High Land, No.145, 42Ln., Gaotai Rd., Yuan vil., Luye Township, Luye Taiwan
Your first stop is Luye Highland, a highland at an elevation of 350 meters. The unique geographical conditions provide an ideal location for tea cultivation and paragliding. After that, you will have a relaxing short bike tour along Mr. Brown Avenue.

Stop At: Dongshan Mr. Brown Avenue, Sande Rd. No.395, Dongshan 269 Taiwan
Famed for the TV commercial of Mr. Brown Coffee (a local coffee brand), Mr. Brown Avenue is a single lane pathway in the middle of the green paddy fields. Takeshi Kaneshiro Tree is a Toog Tree growing beside Mr. Brown Avenue. The tree is famous for one of the EVA Air TV commercials starred by the famous Taiwanese-Japanese actor—Takeshi Kaneshiro.

Stop At: Matai'an Wetlands Ecological Park, No.55 Daquan Street, Guangfu Township, Guangfu Township 976 Taiwan
After lunch (at your own expense), you will visit Mataian Wetland Ecological Park. Located at the foot of Masi Mountain, it is the biggest natural wetland in Hualien and also a land for the Amis to live off for generations in the past.

Day 3: Hualien – Taroko - Yilan

Stop At: Taroko National Park, No.291, Fushi Fushi Vil., Xiulin 97253 Taiwan
After breakfast, you will visit the most spectacular place in Taiwan, also the biggest marble canyon in the world—Taroko National Park.

Situated in the eastern part of Taiwan, Taroko National Park was established in the year of 1986. This park features high mountains and sheer gorges with a diverse range of wildlife and geologic characteristics. The most well-known parts of this park are the marble cliffs, which can soar up to 1,100 meters high.

Today you will stop at the most popular attractions: Shakadang Trail/ Lushui Trail, Eternal Spring Shrine (Changchun Temple), Swallow Grotto Trail and Cimu Bridge.

Stop At: Shakadang Trail, Taroko National Park, Fushi Village, Xiulin Township, Xiulin 972 Taiwan
First, take a walk along Shakadang Trail or Lushui Trail, where the river gently flowing through the marble boulders as you meander along the trail in parallel. The turquoise blue water of the river is crystal clear that you can see the riverbed from above.

Stop At: Yanzihkou Trail (Swallow Grotto), Xincheng Township Xiulin Township, Hualien City Taiwan
The next stop is Swallow Grotto Trail. The potholes on the cliff surface were created by the ground water and the rapid stream of the river. In the past, they were the natural nesting location of swallows, hence the name. Walking through the tunnels, you will be amazed by the stunning views of the marble cliffs reaching up to the sky.

Stop At: Cihmu Bridge, Xincheng Township, Xincheng Taiwan
Before lunch (on your own arrangement), you will stop by Cimu Bridge (literally motherly devotion bridge), an H-shape hanging bridge built of marble and named by the late president Chiang Jing-guo, for a heart-touching story about a loving mother.
Duration: 15 minutes

Pass By: Eternal Spring Shrine, in Taroko National Park, Xiulin Taiwan
After lunch, you will pass by Eternal Spring Shrine, a memorial shrine established in 1958, to commemorate the 225 personnel (military veterans) who died during the construction of the Central Cross-Island Highway. From afar, you can see the waterfall cascading over the sheer cliff below the shrine, creating a picturesque view.

Stop At: Qingshui Cliff, Su-hua highway from Herping to Chungte, Xiulin 97253 Taiwan
Before heading off to the next destination, you will stop for a visit at one of the “Eight Wonders” in Taiwan, Qingshui Cliff, for another visual feast. The soaring cliff is more than 1000 meters high, stretches for 21 kilometers and nearly vertically drops into the sea, that you can enjoy a sweeping view from the viewing platform.
Tonight you will stay at a hot spring resort in Chiaohsi, Yilan, where you can enjoy a natural hot spring treatment after a long day of walking.

Day 4: Yilan - Taipei

Stop At: Jinche Jiaoxi Lanhua Yuan, No.103-1, Qilidan Road, Jiaoxi Township, Jiaoxi 262 Taiwan
Taiwan is well-known for orchid breeding and cultivation; The Taiwan International Orchid Show is held annually in Tainan since 2004. After breakfast, you will visit King Car Orchid Garden, immersing yourself in the elegance of orchids.

Stop At: King Car Kavalan Distillery, No. 326, Sec. 2, Yuanshan Rd., Yuanshan Township, Yilan County 264, Yuanshan 264 Taiwan
After the orchid garden, you will visit King Car Kavalan Distillery, the first whisky distillery in Taiwan. In additional to the equipment on display, here you are offered to taste one type of whiskey.

Stop At: National Center for Traditional Arts, No. 201, Section 2, Wubin Road, Wujie 26841 Taiwan
Before returning to Taipei, you will visit National Center for Traditional Arts and dive into the traditional arts and crafts of Taiwan. Located beside beautiful Dongshan River in Yilan, this 24-hectare park provides a space where visitors can experience the traditional handicrafts, performing arts and folk activities such as puppetry, sugar pulling and many more.

You will then head back to Taipei and arrive in your hotel in the late afternoon, marking the end of your 4-day private tour to Hualien, Taitung and Yilan.
