Jeep Safari Akamas Expedition from Limassol

Here’s a chance to journey deep inside Cyprus’ last undeveloped coastal frontier, the wild Akamas Peninsula. This trip is perfect for nature-lovers of all persuasions, especially for bird-watchers, botanical enthusiasts or those just seeking a thrill. Our itinerary takes in all the “must-see” sites and landscapes of this spectacular environmental wonderland.
This full day adventure includes several sections of “off-road” driving. Dust and bumps are part of the process, but our drivers are specially trained to go slow and steady and allow many rest stops throughout the day.
Note: Enough time will be given for optional lunch (not included, extra).

Itinerary

Stop At: Avakas Gorge, Paphos Cyprus

Perhaps Cyprus’ most impressive natural wonder, this deep canyon is famous for the sheer walls of limestone that come narrowly together to form a natural tunnel. A not-too-strenuous walk is required to see the best parts of the Gorge. Some sections are sun-exposed, but mostly we walk in shadow over sometimes slippery boulders. Decent footwear is advised; not exactly recommended for those wearing high-heel stilettos…!

Stop At: Lara Beach, Cyprus

We visit one of the most important (and pristine) beaches in the entire Mediterranean, Lara Beach, where the Cyprus Turtle Conservation Project has been saving endangered sea turtles from extinction for three decades. Learn the secrets of these sensitive and delightful sea creatures as we take you through the conservation exhibits at the beach. (Note: Turtle nesting season is June-August; the nests hatch until early October.)

Stop At: Akamas Peninsula, Neo Chorion Cyprus

Fantastic views of the beautiful surrounding areas of Akamas Peninsula and a great opportunity to take some amazing photos.

Duration: 15 minutes

Stop At: Baths of Aphrodite, near Latchi, Latchi, Polis Cyprus

One of the true landmarks of the Akamas, this fresh water spring is connected to the myth of Cyprus’ home-grown Goddess of Love.

Duration: 15 minutes

Stop At: Latchi, Latchi, Polis, Paphos District

Enough time will be given for optional lunch and drinks.
