The Silk Road first appeared on the stage in 1979 in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the People’s Republic of China, it has been performed more than 2,100 times for audience numbering more than 4,000,000 people. the Silk Road influenced deeply in the history of Chinese dance, enjoyed a relatively high reputation and fame in China and the world.

Around 6 pm, meet your guide at the lobby of your  Dunhuang hotel, and you will be transferred to the local market first. There are a lot of outdoor restaurants in the market, let's choose your favorite food over there. BBQ is the most popular food here, you can taste the roaster lamp, roaster chicken wings and pan cakes, local yogurt is very nice too. 

At 8 pm, and you will be transferred to the Dunhuang Grand Theater, that is a Chinese traditional building with the best facilities.

The Silk Road is an awesome spectacle perfect for kids and adults alike. It starts at 8:30pm every day at the Dunhuang Grand Theater, and last for around 90 minutes. 

The Silk Road tells an impressive story that virtuous and rustic father and daughter who come from China help a Persian merchant on the Silk Road. During the journey, they experience parting and reunion of family members, the help from friends who sacrifice their own life and the sharing of weal and woe…… It is an ode to friendship between china and the foreign country, promoting the traditional friendship of “friendly trade, mutual benefit and integration” on the Silk Road.  It presents the magnificent and colorful murals of Dunhuang on the stage in a unique artistic style and vividly expresses the extensive and profound Dunhuang culture and the prosperous and glorious scene of the ancient Silk Road in an artistic way.

After the show you will be transferred back to your hotel. Tour end, wish you have a nice evening .
