Moroccan Cooking Workshops
  • Moroccan Cooking Workshops

Our pioneering spirit at La Maison Arabe led us to open the first cooking school in the Kingdom of Morocco in 2001. Food lovers staying in Marrakech can discover some secrets of Moroccan traditional cuisine. The workshops are conducted by a dada (traditional Moroccan cook), algonside a translator ( Arabic/English/French) and are held by the cooking school near the Riad-Hotel La Maison Arabe or by the secret gardens away from the hustle and bustle of the medina. The Moroccan cooking workshops at La Maison Arabe allow one to learn the ins and outs of preparing a Moroccan dish in a beautiful new workshop with state-of-the-art equipment. The workstations are individual and only fresh local ingredients of the highest quality are used.

This class was the hands on experience I was looking for. Each person gets their own station and ingredients. We learned how to make traditional chicken tagine, and 2 salads. After the class, the chef gives you the recipes and your own tagine to take home. awesome experience

This three hour lunch class is absolutely top-notch. The kitchen stations have video screens so that everyone can see the master chef perfectly well. Hands-on assistance, and lots of friendly fun. Highly recommend this beautiful culinary experience. Enjoy the chicken lemon Tagines and two salads that you will prepare.

This is a great way to learn more about Moroccan culture, while learning to make a tasty meal! The chef and instructor were both very lovely people :) I'd recommend coming on an empty stomach, you'll want to eat all of what you've made

Arrived at la Maison Arabe and had tea and lovely pastries in the courtyard. We were then taken in a minibus to the out of town school. We weren’t told what was happening so this perhaps needs a little explanation as so of the group thought they were being kidnapped 😂!
The school is set in beautiful gardens and is a ‘state of the art’ facility.
After a tea and bread making demonstration in the garden we started the cooking. The host was informative, friendly and fun. It is easy to follow and the food was delicious and we’ll definitely make this at home. For me this was the best trip of the holiday

We loved this cooking class! We learned a lot about the spices used in Moroccan cuisine, its history and influences, cooked some delicious dishes, and even went home with our own tagines! Would highly recommend!

We booked in for an hour Moroccan cooking class where we learnt to make chicken tagine. The hostess were very friendly and gave good instructions on how the workshop will run. The class itself was very informative and yet relaxing at the same time.

Really enjoyed this class. They covered a lot of ground and even provided time to eat.
Started with a delicious drink in the courtyard, followed by a tea ceremony, a quick informational session to be sure we had all the info we need to make these dishes at home, and then a full on cooking class with individual work stations to make your own Tagine.
We helped with bread making and watched a demo to make dessert.
All in all, it was a wonderful class.
This foodie thanks you for helping me check off, making a Tagine IN Morocco!

Firstly, due to a mistake on my part, we turned up on Friday rather than Thursday for our 1 hour cooking class. Usually I'd expect to be told there's nothing they could do and I would think that's fair. However they managed to get us a place on the course that day at no extra charge.

The facilities were superb and spotless. Our translator was lovely and the chef was very professional. I don't really cook so I was worried about being left behind but they took us through step by step. I was with my girlfriend who also enjoyed it. Had I known how good the class was I would have booked the 3 hour option.

To top it off, you are then taken to the rooftop where you are served your very own meal you made. We ordered two glasses of white Moroccan wine for around £5 each and it was simply brilliant.

Cannot recommend highly enough. Can even go for a drink in the 5* hotel after too.
