Stop At: Gedenkstatte und Museum Sachsenhausen, Strasse der Nationen 22, 16515 Oranienburg, Brandenburg Germany

Meet us at Friedrichstrasse station, where you will board our hired coach to reach Oranienburg. Along the way, our guide will introduce Sachsenhausen, show you where the inmates would have worked in Oranienburg, and you'll learn more about what the local populations knew about the realities of the immense camp system.

With our guide, you'll walk around the interior of Heinrich Himmmler's, new, modern always expandable Concentration camp. Visit the commandants house, then walk through tower A where the iconic words can still be seen on the gate today "ARBEIT MACHT FREI".

Experience the interior of the camp, where 35,000 people died during the years of its operation between 1936-45. Explore the infirmary barracks, where experimentation took place during the war. Learn about the how Sachsenhausen was re-purposed by the Soviets as a special camp after the World War 2, where an additional 12,500 died after the war, and hear what life was like for the inmates during the years of 1945-1950.

Once the tour has concluded you will be picked up and brought back to Berlin in an air-conditioned bus to our West meeting point at Friedrichstraße station, where our guide will be happy to answer any and all questions you may have about your stay in Berlin.
