Meet your guide at your hotel in Izmir, Izmir port or Izmir Airport. After an hour, arrive at this age-old Greco-Roman city. Enter with your guide via the Magnesia Gate and explore the ruined streets, shops, building and other monuments of this once powerful trading city.

See the Roman baths, Odeon, Fountain of Trajan and the Temple of Hadrian, and admire the magnificent Library of Celsus. Linger, too, at the Great Theatre, a 25,000-seater arena where St Paul.

Leave Ephesus and visit the nearby House of the Virgin Mary, where Mary is said to have spent her last years. Continue to the Basilica of St John to see the remains of this 6th century church. View the walls and remaining frescoes of this once-majestic church that was built over the believed burial site of the apostle.
