Enjoy a drink of water and then move on to see the Welwitschia Mirabilis plant, an endemic living fossil.After lunch, you'll be taken to the old German town of Swakopmund . Explore the town at your own pace and do some shopping. Finally, make your way back to your cruise ship via the coastal road.

Stop At: Dune 7, just off the C14, 6km by road, Walvis Bay Namibia

Arrive at Dune 7 after approximately 20 minutes and enjoy some free time to climb up the sand and take photos. Head back towards town and then to the Walvis Bay Salt Refinery. This refinery produces a staggering 750,000 tons of salt per year, much of which is exported internationally. It covers an area of 4500 hectares and is in the process of expanding. See massive heaps of salt that looks like snow and bright pink-colored water basins.

Travel Time has put together a splendid city tour of Swakopmund for interested visitors to this wonderful city.
Experienced and knowledgeable guides will take you through an exploration of Swakopmund's colourful history. The tour takes you along the townships, through to the luxurious beachfront homes.

Stop At: Mondesa, Swakopmund, Namibia

Provides a well-organised tour with a local guide Nande Junias that reflects the history of the Mondesa Township. Mondesa was established in the early 1950's to provide housing for blacks working in Swakopmund. The tour is designed as a part of living history, moving from the Owambo areas to those inhabited by Damara and Herero. At each stop a bit of culture, a bit of history and a great deal of laughter are shared. Guests will also get the chance to learn about traditional dress, see a demonstration of mahango preparation, taste some traditional Oshiwambo food and drink, visted the DRC kindergarden and enjoy children dancing. Each customized tour last 2-3 hours with the aim of immersing visitors in township life and introducing people to the local customs and traditions.
