4-Day Amazon Rainforest Exploration at Curassow Amazon Lodge
The 4-day Amazon Jungle Exploration is a trip that begins from Iquitos, Peru. It is one of our most favorite explorations, you will have the opportunity to observe wildlife in the Tamshiyacu-Tahuayo Reserve, you will observe a great variety of birds, you will learn about medicinal plants and the way of life of the Amazonian Communities.
You will explore this pristine and remote Amazon Rainforest with our jungle guides (private) to observe birds (there are more than 500 types of birds in our area), pink and gray dolphins, sloths, caimans, capybaras, monkeys (there are more than 10 species in our area), frogs, snakes, giant trees and medicinal plants.
Some activities in the jungle include hiking, boat excursion, canoeing, sport fishing, visits to the local community, swimming near dolphins in the Amazon River, medicinal plant tour, Full Day and Survival in primary jungle.
ItineraryDay 1: Iquitos to Tamshiyacu - Tahuayo ReserveStop At: Area de Conservacion Regional Comunal Tamshiyacu Tahuayo, Iquitos Peru
9:15 a.m. Reception at the Airport or Hotel in Iquitos, we will take you to our office to complete all the details of your excursion. Transfer by land (road) and speedboat (navigating the Amazon River) This is a 3-hour trip to our jungle Lodge. Welcome drink of local fruits and distribution in your private Bungalow (a jungle ensuite room).
1:00 p.m. Lunch time.
First contact with the wild jungle with a walk of 2-3 hours learming about medicine plants special trees like rubber tree and searching wild animals, like monkies, sloths, birds and others.
7:00 p.m. Dinner time.
Night excursion by boat searching caymans, snakes and nocturnal birds, frogs, tarantulas, capybaras biggest rodent in the world, anacondas and others.

Day 2: Tamshiyacu-Tahuayo ReserveStop At: Area de Conservacion Regional Comunal Tamshiyacu Tahuayo, Iquitos Peru
6:00 a.m. Early morning wild exploration by boat, jungle walk, fishing of piranhas, oscar fish, sardins, catfish and others (optional for bird watchhing) this activity includes breakfast on board in order to gain time exploring 5-6 hours all morning.
1:00 p.m. Lunch time.
Excursion by boat exploring lakes observation of giant lily pads (victoria amazonica) and dolphins (pinks and grays) optional swimming with them, and the opportunity to observe the beautiful Amazon Sunset.
7:00 p.m. Dinner time.
Jungle walk for searching nocturnal wild animals like tarantulas, spiders, cane toads, smoky jungle frog, snakes, rodents, monkeys and others.

Excursion by boat we go to the Lake Yarina exploration in primary jungle in searchof anacondas, monkeys, other varieties of birds and mammals.
1:00 p.m. Lunch time.
Exploration by boat or walk. Learning about how to survive in the jungle, knowing material items to make a shelter, vines to get water and food to eat.
7:00 p.m. Dinner time.
Free Night. Excursion to chooseon the part of the passenger in coordination with your guide.

Day 4: Tamshiyacu - Tahuayo Reserve to IquitosStop At: Area de Conservacion Regional Comunal Tamshiyacu Tahuayo, Iquitos Peru
8:00 a.m. Breakfast time.
Boat exploration and jungle walk for searching the prehistric hoatzin birds, monkeys and other species. Visit the village San Juan or Ayacucho and have the opportunity to buy handcrafts.
1:00 p.m. Lunch time.
1:30 or 2:00 p.m. Departure to Iquitos.
4:00p.m. Is the estimate arrival time in iquitos, transfer to the airport or hotel.

Curassow is only accessible by our private transports. Our transfer leaves Iquitos to the Lodge every day at 9:30 AM. And return from the Lodge to Iquitos after lunch between 1:30 to 2:00 PM. Arriving in Iquitos at approximately 4:00 PM. To comply with this itinerary, you must be in Iquitos before 9:00 AM. and for your last day your flight must depart from Iquitos after 6:00 PM.
Our new route by land and speedboat allows us to transport travelers who arrive in Iquitos until before 2 PM. If you have flights outside the time of our private transfers, just let us know to schedule an extra transportation without additional charges.
