Join us in a walk through time on an experience seeped in history and culture.  Breathe in the energy of the Tauranga harbour, hear the compelling Māori legends, and immerse yourself in the tranquil surroundings.

Stop At: Mauao Adventures, Beachside, corner Pacific Ave and, The Mall, Pilot Bay, Mount Maunganui 3116, New Zealand

Our mobile station is based on Pilot Bay, just a short walk from the cruise ship gate. From here, we deliver stand up paddling and waka ama (outrigger canoe) services.

Mauao is an iconic landmark and its 3.4km base track is New Zealand’s single most popular walk. We have plenty of time to enjoy the crashing ocean waves, stunning views and compelling stories told by our local guides. Mauao was once a Maori pa site. Ask our guides more about pre-European Mauao.

We can meet at the Port of Tauranga cruise ship gate and escort on foot to the mountain (15 minute walk), or meet onsite at the base of the mountain.
