Florida Bioluminescence Kayaking Tour | Haulover canal (Titusville)

Florida bioluminescence is the #1 kayaking trip in the Orlando, Cocoa beach area. We are located about an hour from Universal Studios and The Walt Disney world area theme parks. Our "tourist tours or "visitor tours", as the locals would call them, are ideal for a romantic evening on the water or an expedition in the name of science with the little ones (as long as they are over 5yrs of age). Our tour guides will guide you through the Indian River lagoon and show you something truly magical as we make our way through mangrove trails and the shallow flats of the lagoon.

We will spend a leisurely 90 mins on the water during this tour. You may want to leave the camera at home for this excursion, as the bioluminescence is very hard to photograph unless you have professional equipment.

Itinerary

Florida has 2 types of bioluminescence, cooler months, and warmer months. Our cooler water bioluminescent experience is the Bioluminescent Comb-Jellyfish. These organisms inundate our lagoons and make every stroke magical. We will collect the jellies in a jar and pass them around, letting you see how they function. We will also pass them around and let you see them light up right in the palm of your hand (they don't sting). You'll be talking about this experience for months!

In the summer time every stroke of your paddle will cause the water to light up a bright neon blue. Fish moving look like fireworks going off underwater, dolphins letting our air looks like a neon blue volcano erupting in the black of night. The dinoflagellate plankton thrive in this area and as such Florida has the brightest bio visibility anywhere on earth.
