Before becoming the world heritage site today, Ayutthaya City was founded in 1350 which used to be the former capital of Thailand and one of the world's largest and most important cosmopolitan. Its pagoda' ruins, towers, buildings and monasteries remind us to its past splendor.
Sights include the original palace of Ayutthaya, the temple of the earth, the largest reclining buddha amongst others.
Lunch is also included at the TM Land Hotel before travelling back to Bangkok.

Less than an hours drive North of Bangkok and just a few kilometers from Ayutthaya lies the Bang Pa-In Summer Palace.
The original Palace was built by King Prasat Thong of Ayutthaya in the first half of the 17th century. When Ayutthaya was invaded and destroyed by the Burmese in 1767, Bang Pa-In Palace was left abandoned for almost a century.

The monastery was built in 1900 by King U Thong who granted the temple with the name Wat Pa Kaew. The intention was to create a center of Buddhist studies (Ceylonese Sect). As the temple used to be headed by a patriarch, local people also called it Wat Chao Phraya Thai.

Wat Phra Si Sanphet was the holiest temple on the site of the old Royal Palace in Thailand's ancient capital of Ayutthaya until the city was completely destroyed by the Burmese in 1767. It was the grandest and most beautiful temple in the capital and it served as a model for Wat Phra Kaew in Bangkok.
