Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Paro to Thimphu | 1.5 Hrs

Stop At: Chuzom-haa Highway, Chuzom-haa Hwy, Uesu Gewog, Bhutan
Meeting point of two rivers (Thimphu & Paro) and meeting point of four highways, Thimphu, Paro, Haa and Chukha offers spectacular views of the area. This is quick stop for leg stretch walk and picture only.
Duration: 5 hours

Stop At: Thimphu, Thimphu, Thimphu District
Explore capital city of Bhutan Thimphu by walk. The city is without traffic light and more crowded with all walks of lives. Enjoy your time and shopping in the city.
Duration: 2 hours

Stop At: Tashichho Dzong (Thimpu Dzong), Chhagchhen Lam, Thimphu Bhutan
Centuries old Dzong (fortress), which has the office of His Majesty the King of Bhutan. The majestic view of the Dzong in the valley is dominating and offer beautiful pictures.

Day 2: Thimphu Sightseeing

Stop At: Thimphu Chorten (Memorial Chorten), Thimphu Bhutan
Memorial chorten built in memory of late 3rd King and good place to take pictures of Bhutanese senior citizen.
Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Buddha Dordenma, Kuensel Phodrang Viewing Point, Thimphu 11001 Bhutan
Visit to Buddha Dordenma offers best views of entire Thimphu valley. The statue is one of the largest sitting Buddha in the world.

Stop At: Motithang Takin Preserve, Thimphu Bhutan
The Takin Preserve center offers beautiful hiking to the mini zoo and back to the parking space. Here you get to see national animal of Bhutan (Takin), barking deer and sambar deer.

Stop At: National Institute for Zorig Chusum, Thimphu Bhutan
National Institute of Zorig Chusum is vocational training institute where students learn 13 different arts of Bhutan. They learn tailoring, sculpture, painting, pottery and many more.
Duration: 40 minutes

Stop At: Royal Textile Academy of Bhutan, Norzin Lam, Thimphu 11001 Bhutan
Center of textile in Bhutan where we get to see the fine arts of weaving, beautiful & expensive products and the Bhutanese talents.
Duration: 40 minutes

Stop At: National Folk Heritage Museum, Pedzoe Lam, Thimphu 11001 Bhutan
Centuries old three stories Bhutanese house is converted into national folk heritage museum which gives the glimpses of Bhutanese farming and living examples.
Duration: 40 minutes

Stop At: Thimphu’s Weekend Market, Chhogyal Lam, Thimphu Bhutan
Vegetable market place where people from across the country come here to sale their products. The market is closed only on Tuesday, open for rest of the days.

Day 3: Thimphu to Phobjikha | 4 Hrs

Stop At: Dochula Pass, Thimphu Bhutan
One of the most popular location to stop over for hot tea/coffee with stunning 180-degree panoramic view of the Great Himalayan mountain ranges. The view is especially scenic and very clear on winter days with snowcapped mountains forming a majestic backdrop to the tranquility of the 108 chortens gracing the mountain pass.

Stop At: Royal Botanical Garden, Serbithang, Thimphu 00975 Bhutan
Lampari Botanical Garden is located in a scenic green area, it is a perfect place for nature lover and photography. A good spot for bird watching and picnic lunch.

Stop At: Wangdue Dzong, Wangdue Bhutan
Wangdue Dzong (17th century fortress) is under construction after the beautiful Dzong was raze to ground by fire in the summer of 2012.
Duration: 40 minutes

Stop At: Black Necked Crane Center, Bhutan
Cranes and valley. The main charm of the center is "Karma", an injured crane with a broken wing which is kept in an enclosure. Visit Phobjikha to see the majestic cranes.

Stop At: Phobjikha Valley, Phobjikha, Bhutan
Farm House visit, which offers a taste of Bhutanese farm life is truly for those who want to experience nature in its originality. It is an opportunity to get a firsthand experience of typical village life in Bhutan. Day 4: Phobjikha to Punakha | 3 Hrs

Stop At: Gangtey Monastery, Gangtey Bhutan
Situated atop a hill at an altitude of 2800m, it is an important monastery of Nyingmapa school of Buddhism which is considered as the main seat of Pema Lingpa Tradition. It depicts the detail Bhutanese unique art and architecture. The monastery is surrounded by small village with traditional houses that adds the beauty of the landscape.

Stop At: Chimi Lhakhang Temple, Punakha Bhutan
Walking in between the paddy fields to the temple of fertility is a amazing experience. It is believed that women who seek fertility will be blessed. Travelers from all over the world visit this temple for a gift of richness.

Stop At: Punakha Dzong, Punakha 13001 Bhutan
Palace of Great Happiness or Bliss'. The dzong has one of the most majestic structure and architectures in the country and is located at the confluence of two rivers- Po Chu and Mo Chu.

Day 5: Punakha to Paro | 4 Hrs

Stop At: Dochula Pass, Thimphu Bhutan
A quick stop for the tea/coffee and pictures before heading to Paro.

Stop At: Paro Airport Bird's Eye View Point, Paro Bhutan
We will stop to enjoy the bird's eye view of the Paro airport. This is the best place to take the picture of Paro Dzong, Ta Dzong and Airport.

National Museum: It is the pride of the country. The museum holds fascinating collection of arts, relics, religious thanka paintings and Bhutan's exquisite postage stamps. The museum performs essential role as a preserver and promoter of Bhutanese cultural values.

Rinpung Dzong: This particular dzong showcases one of the finest example of architecture. A visit to the fortress welcomes you with spectacular views of nearby villages. The dzong is beautifully lit up at night which is best time to take the pictures.

Explore the tiny Paro town: The main street of Paro is lined with colorfully painted wooden shops, restaurants, cafes and souvenir shops. Paro remains one of the best Bhutanese town to explore on foot at the end of a day of sightseeing.

Day 6: Paro Sightseeing

Stop At: Taktsang Gompa, Bum La Road, Tawang 790104 India
An essential pilgrimage climb will take your breath away; the sight will give it back! It is Bhutan’s most iconic landmark and religious Buddhist site in the Bhutan. A tourist attraction that will actually feel worth it. The trek to monastery will start you with stunning views and give you knowledge about rich Bhutanese culture and history. The monastery clings impossibly to a sheer cliff face 900 meters above the Paro valley. Taktsang is one of the most famous attraction in Paro especially among the tourist visiting Bhutan. Although good trekkers can make it to the top in two hours, most of the guests take whole day to complete the hike.

Stop At: Kyichu Lhakhang, Lamgong Gewog, Paro 12001 Bhutan
This is one of the oldest temples in Bhutan. This temple dates back to 7th century built by Tibetan king Songsten Gampo. legends believe that the temple was built on the left foot of the giant demon who was preventing the spread of Buddhism in the Himalayan region. The temple has many relics and is a must visit temple while you are at Paro.
