Full day tour to Strendur Snældan and Kirkjubøur

Strendur is connected to Runavík and Tórshavn through the longest underwater tunnel in the Faroe Islands: Eysturoyartunnilin. Eysturoyartunnilin is known for its underwater roundabout, which is the first of its kind in the world. The entrance to the tunnel is by the seaside in Strendur. In Sterndur we will visit Snældan – SNÆLDAN is a Faroese yarn company and here it will be possible to buy Faroese knitwear and yarn made at the local factory.

We drive north through Skálafjørð and up to the tunnel that goes over to Sundalagið, you have the opportunity to walk over the bridge from Eysturoy to Streymoy.

We drive to Tórshavn, we walk through the old part of Tórshavn, and than to Kirkjubø the southernmost village on Streymoy where we can see the ruins of the Magnus Cathedral from around 1300, the Saint Olav’s Church from 12th century and the old farmhouse Kirkjubøargarður from 11th century.

We drive trough the fantastic Subseatunnel with a amasing roundabout between Streymoy to EysturoyIn Sterndur we will visit Snældan – SNÆLDAN a Faroese yarn company, here it will be possible to buy Faroese knitwear and yarn made at the local factory.

In Skálabotnur you have the opportunity to get really good Faroese fish and chips

The bridge between Streymoy to Eysturoy

Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Hvalvik, Hvalvik, Streymoy

Between Hvalvík and Hósvík we visit the old whaling station Við Áir. Here we can get an insight into how it worked when it was in operating

Stop At: Kaldbaksbotnur, Faroe Islands

On our trip you will see all the fantastic waterfalls that come down from the mountains right next to the road
