Stop At: Johnson Lake Road, Banff, Banff National Park, Alberta Canada

On Tuesdays, the Radventures Snowshoe Explorer tour goes to Johnson Lake, a gem deep in the heart of Banff National Park that is perfect for snowshoeing beginners.

Here, we will circle the lake, nestled amongst some of the oldest Douglas fir trees in Alberta and experience the richest ecoregion in our park - the montane zone.

You can then take in unique views of Mount Rundle and Cascade Mountain as you venture out on to the frozen lake to find even deeper snow to trailblaze!

On Thursdays, the Radventures Snowshoe Explorer tour takes on the best "bang for your buck" winter hike in Banff, Tunnel Mountain.

Popular with locals, the trail to the summit of Tunnel Mountain starts off with a short series of switchbacks before popping out above the tree line, where you're treated to jaw-dropping views of the town of Banff and the Canadian Rockies in every direction.

Along the way to the summit, you'll hear stories about how Tunnel Mountain got its name and the rich indigenous & European history that took place around its base.

Our snowshoeing tour to Tunnel Mountain is the only tour that visits a couple of secret spots with epic views on the way up and down, so have your camera charged and ready!
