Boston Cambridge Lexington and Concord Private Day Tour

This is an action packed private day tour of the sites, history and events of the Revolutionary War era in Boston, Cambridge Lexington & Concord.

We drive the Freedom Trail with stories of the city's 400 year history, the events, people and sites which led up to the war.

In the oldest neighborhoods of the city, we'll give context to historic events like the Boston Tea Party, Boston Massacre and Battle of Bunker Hill.

We'll take a quick walking tour of Harvard, explain the role it played in the start of the war and where George Washington himself spent time.

A 10 mile drive gets us to Lexington Green where we take in the significance of the site and the story of what happened that night in April 1775.

Next the picturesque town of Concord, to the Old North Bridge and how the second battle of the war took the British by surprise.

Pick up and drop off in Downtown Boston, a stop for lunch along the way (not included in price of tour) and as light or heavy on history as you'd like.

We'll drive the 16 sites of Boston's Freedom Trail, which covers some of the most historic neighborhoods of the city.

We'll pause at several to share stories, history and legends of the events and people that made them famous.

Stop At: Massachusetts State House, 24 Beacon St Beacon Hill, Boston, MA 02133-1099

Stop to see the famous architecture and story of the gold dome.

Stop At: King's Chapel, 58 Tremont St, Boston, MA 02108-3201

The first Anglican Church in Boston.

Pass By: Granary Burying Ground, Tremont Street (between Park and School Sreets), Boston, MA 02108

Where some of Boston's Revolutionary War legends are buried.

One of the oldest buildings in the city and site of some major historic events.

Stop At: Faneuil Hall Marketplace, 1 Faneuil Hall Sq Quincy Market, Boston, MA 02109-1604

We'll explain the significance of this area now and over the past several hundred years.

Drive through this historic, and still vibrant neighborhood, even stop for a signature cannoli.

Home of the famous Son of Liberty.

Where the lanterns were hung the night of Paul Revere's midnight ride.

Optional walking tour around the public parts of the campus with the sites and history of the oldest college in the country.
We'll stop for lunch (not included in price of tour) someplace around Harvard Square.

From Cambridge we'll take the 30 minute drive to Lexington

Stop At: Lexington Green, Bedford St, Lexington, MA 02420-4403

The first battle of the Revolutionary War happened right at this spot. Hear the story of how things unfolded on this April night 1775.

Duration: 10 minutes

Stop At: Hancock-Clarke House, 36 Hancock St, Lexington, MA 02420-3432

This house played an important role for Sam Adams and we'll share the intriguing story from the outside.

Duration: 5 minutes

Stop At: Battle Road Trail, Concord, MA

Drive along the same route as Paul Revere and the British army. This is about a 30 minute drive

Duration: 30 minutes

Stop At: The Old North Bridge, 174 Liberty St Minuteman National Historical Park, Concord, MA 01742-1705

These now tranquil surroundings were the scene for the second battle between local militia and the Red Coats. Lots of stories to tell about the battle and the people involved.

After the sites in Concord, we'll take the 45 minute drive back to Boston

We'll pick up anywhere in the immediate Downtown Boston area. If you're staying outside the city, we'll meet you at Flour Bakery on Farnsworth St, Boston. We'll be driving a Honda Odyssey van.
