Private Japanese Cooking Experience at Our Townhouse in Machiya

Private cooking class at our private historical townhouse in the preserved district. We offer authentic cooking classes where you can connect with the depth of Japanese food culture. We will take you to the morning market to pick up ingredients, and learn the true way of living as local people in Hida Takayama. You will learn basics of Japanese cooking chemistry, and basic ingredients such as soy sauce, miso, mirin, and dash.

Connecting with authentic local culture through food is one of the most beautiful things! We offer our cooking class where you can feel Japanese culture in depth.

You will cook and enjoy food at our private townhouse with 200 years of history in the historically preserved area. We use local ingredients to make authentic Japanese food, and we will sure you enjoy the beauty of it!

• Hoba Sushi - [Pescatarian/Gruten-Free] Trout salmon sushi rapped with a magnolia leaf. Limited to the early summer June-July
• Hida Beef Gyudon - [Gluten-free] A bowl of rise topped with thinly sliced beef and tender onions simmered in a savory-sweet sauce.
• Chirashi Sushi - [Vegan, Vegetarian/Gluten-Free] A colorful sushi dish topped with many kinds of ingredients as you like
• Hida Pork Gyoza - Homemade Gyoza using Hida Pork
• Miso Soup - [Vegan or Pescatarian] Miso Soup with seasonal ingredients + Japanese Broth, "Dashi"
• Dashi Soup - [Vegan or Pescatarian + Gluten-free]Soup without Miso, called "Sumashi Shiru" in Japanese with seasonal ingredient
