Itinerary

Day 1: Day 1

Stop At: Kitahiroshima-cho, Kitahiroshima-cho, Yamagata-gun, Hiroshima Prefecture, Chugoku
Upon arrival at Hiroshima Station, you'll make your way to the meeting point in front of the Tourist Information on the 2nd floor, where our guide will be waiting to greet you. From there, our guide will accompany you throughout the day's events, starting with a comfortable transfer to the hotel in Kitahiroshima-cho via a private vehicle. Once you've checked in and enjoyed a delicious lunch, you'll receive an explanation of the experience. Following this, you'll change into the provided traditional Japanese swordsmith's working attire before heading to the nearby forge of the Master Swordsmith. The highlight of the day is participating in traditional fold forging, where you'll witness the master's techniques, hear his stories, and work with tamahagane, the material used in crafting Japanese swords. In the evening, you'll dine at a renowned upscale restaurant in town, where you'll have the opportunity to spend time with Master Mikami.

Day 2: Day2

Stop At: Kitahiroshima-cho, Kitahiroshima-cho, Yamagata-gun, Hiroshima Prefecture, Chugoku
On the second day, you'll dive into the world of swordsmithing: shaping steel, crafting blades, and quenching them—a truly thrilling highlight. With Master Mikami's expert guidance, your journey flows seamlessly, and witnessing his unmatched skills up close adds an exhilarating dimension. While you might be tempted to tackle knife-making solo, seeking the master's aid adds a touch of camaraderie and intrigue to your unforgettable adventure. As night falls, immerse yourself in an Iaido/Kenshibu session, further deepening your cultural immersion.

Day 3: Day 3

Stop At: Kitahiroshima-cho, Kitahiroshima-cho, Yamagata-gun, Hiroshima Prefecture, Chugoku
On the 3rd day, while Master Mikami works on revealing layers in the base steel at the forge, you'll visit the Sengoku no Niwa History Museum. Here, you'll don armor, take photos, and explore the site of the local feudal lord's mansion. You'll also receive a brief tour of the museum from the curator and have the opportunity to hold the raw-forged sword crafted by Mikami sensei.

Additionally, you'll experience traditional cooking and enjoy lunch, featuring rice cooked in an old-style oven. Afterward, you'll return to the forge for a sword appreciation session, where you'll view collections of swords crafted by Mikami sensei, with each knife presented to you individually.
