The Great Salt Lake, located in the northern part of Utah, USA, is the largest saltwater lake in the Western Hemisphere and one of the most significant natural landmarks in the American West. Spanning several thousand square miles, depending on water levels, its size fluctuates dramatically with the seasons and yearly precipitation, making it a dynamic ecosystem. The lake is a remnant of ancient Lake Bonneville, a vast prehistoric freshwater lake that once covered much of western Utah. Over thousands of years, the lake has shrunk and its waters have become saline, creating the current salt lake, which is several times saltier than the ocean.

The Bonneville Salt Flats is a striking natural wonder located in northwestern Utah, USA, near the Utah-Nevada border. Over millennia, as the lake evaporated, it left behind vast deposits of salt, creating a flat, almost perfectly level landscape that stretches as far as the eye can see. The salt flats are known for their ethereal beauty, appearing as a vast white expanse that merges with the sky at the horizon, creating a surreal, otherworldly landscape.
