This fantastic viewpoint shows beautiful views to both the south coast and to the west as well. The is a small market stall that sells local products. Often visited by the local shepherd.

Stop At: Mount Foia, Serra de Monchique, Monchique Portugal
At 902 metres (2,959 feet) above sea level, this is the highest peak in the Algarve. On clear days, it is possible to see the southern coastline stretching from Faro to Cape St. Vincent and northwards as far as the Arrábida mountain range situated some 40 kilometres (25 miles) south of Lisbon.

A stroll through the cobbled streets of Monchique will bring us pass to
this 16th century Paris Church with it´s beautiful Manuelin style doorway and eye-window.

Stop At: Convento de Nossa Senhora do Desterro, Monchique Portugal
For those with good shoes and fit for a steep hill climb we can visit the ruins of the 17th century convent. This monestary was built by the Franciscaner order in 1633 and destroyed by the 1755 earthquake. It lies in a beautiful old cork trees forest along a walking path believed dating back to the Romans.

Stop At: Caldas de Monchique, Monchique 8550-998 Portugal
The famous spa has a beautiful garden for walking. Here we will stop at the "Fonte das Amores", believed to boost your love life after drinking some water here.
The healing waters are used for treatment of rheumatism and other illnesses.
It is here where the healthy "Aguas de Monchique" is bottled, which is our favourite water with it´s natural pH of 9.
