Itinerary

Day 1: Train Cemetery - Colchani - Salt Hotel - Isla Incahuasi (Cactus Island)

Stop At: Salar de Uyuni, Uyuni Bolivia
Starting our tour we go to the train cemetery where we can appreciate the old steam locomotives that were an important part of the progress of the region. Continuing our trip, we visited the community of Colchani where we will find rustic workshops of local handicrafts made of salt and here we will be observers of the salt refining process for consumption in the rustic table salt micro-processor. Afterwards, we enter the Salar de Uyuni and make stops to see salt and salt eyes (water holes on the surface of the salt), then we arrive at the Sal Playa Blanca hotel which was the first salt hotel in the region but due to the negative environmental impact, it currently only works as a museum and dining room. Later, we depart to the Incahuasi Island, in the middle of the road we make a stop to take photos of the imposing Salar, then we arrive at the Incahuasi Island where we will make walks and we can appreciate large areas of cactus, fossils of sea rock and spectacular views from the top. At the end of our tour, we go to our salt lodging accommodation room with private bathroom, hot shower.

Day 2: Ollague Volcano Viewpoint - Lagunas de Altura - Siloli Desert - Stone Tree - Laguna Colorada

Stop At: Eduardo Avaroa National Reserve of Andean Fauna, Bolivia
The day starts with a typical breakfast at our Salt Hotel. We leave for the Chiguana salt flat to the viewpoint of the Ollague volcano, an excellent place to appreciate a volcanic desert landscape and the scarce high-Andean vegetation such as Queñua and Yareta at 4,000 m.a.s.l. The Ollague volcano is border between Chile and Bolivia, then begins our tour of the altiplanic lagoons, all above 4,100 m.a.s.l. Continuing, we arrive at the town of Huayllajara where we will taste a dinner, and spend the night in a community family lodging (Basic lodging).

Day 3: Fumaroles - Thermal springs of Polques - Green lagoon - Valley of the rocks - San Cristóbal - Uyuni

Stop At: Salar de Uyuni, Uyuni Bolivia
