What we offer you in this experience is a visit that will introduce you to one of the genuine local products, Matera oil, from its cultivation to its production, up to the final product.
The company you will visit was founded in 2000 thanks to the initiative of the founder and his family, which made it one of the most important and famous companies in the area.
A family that lives for the passion for the land and for one of its most noble and important products, extra virgin olive oil, in fact.
The company in question also obtained First Place in the Olivarum Regional Competition in the Round of the National Olive Academy in Basilicata, with the "Olio dei Sassi" brand.
The tour is divided into three different moments: the excursion inside the fields, the visit to the oil mill and the tasting of the oil and / or tasting.
You can choose between:
• Oil Tasting: explanations will be given for the recognition of a good extra-virgin olive oil and the approach to tasting accompanied by "Matera bread";
• Tasting of typical products: break with tasting of various typical Lucanian products.

The itinerary is structured as follows:
• Excursion to the olive grove: after having illustrated the history of the company, explanations will be given on the territory, on the plantations and on the varieties of crops planted. The various stages of cultivation will also be illustrated and, depending on the period, it will be possible to witness the activities carried out on site: tree pruning or olive harvesting;
• Visit to the mill: the milling processes will be described with a tour of the machinery used for the extraction of extra-virgin oil. A visit to the packaging laboratory will follow and the conservation and bottling process will be explained;
• Oil Tasting: explanations will be given for the recognition of a good extra-virgin olive oil and the approach to tasting accompanied by "Matera bread".
