Kagoshima Sustainable craft experience in a small group
Enjoy craft making using Kagoshima local products in the city of Kagoshima.
This craft making experience reflects SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) and you can also contribute to fair trade if you join this activity, since activity materials and production of souvenirs involve people with disabilities.
They earn from people having this Sustainable craft experience and also buying souvenirs. We hope you can learn about and feel the passion of the producers (handicapped) who pour love into their products such as "Organic cotton", "Oshima Tsumugi", "Kurobuta leather", and "Yakusugi wood". This will be an opportunity to take and sustain action towards a sustainable society.
ItineraryYou can choose from the following four activities:
● Spinning organic cotton thread
● Tsumami-zaiku (beaded flower ornaments) with Oshima tsumugi silk
● Craft-work with using Kurobuta (Black pork) leather to make bag charms.
● Polishing Yakusugi wood to make key-chains (additional material cost of 2,200yen is required.)
*All materials are from Kagoshima.
One drink is included. (Kagoshima green tea or black tea)
For those who want to try we offer Hot Packs for eyes, shoulder or lower back using organic cotton eye pillows.
There are also Kagoshima souvenirs that you can buy.
