2 Day Australian Tour - from Arras

The only Australian guide operating on the Western Front.

Two leisurely filled days following Australian footsteps across France & Belgium. Villers-Bretonneux, Somme, Pozieres, Fromelles, Messines, Polygon Wood, Passchendaele.... etc

All Day Tours start / end in Arras and are run in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle. Our small group tours allow to visit the grave of a unique soldier or follow the actions of a relative.

For singles, couples and small groups. Shared basis - Maximum of 7 clients.

Tours are run in English.

Day 1: Out in the Somme Day Tour

Stop At: Serre Road Cemetery No.2, D919, Hebuterne France
The largest Commonwealth cemetery in the Somme.

A WWI battlefield left as it was. Walk through authentic trenches used on the first day of the Battle of the Somme.

Over 73,000 missing British soldiers are commemorated, those with no-known grave.

Where General Monash and the 3rd Australian Division halted the German advance in 1918.

Le Hamel - where General Monash introduced tactics that took charge of the war.

Day 2: Fromelles - Ypres Day Tour

The newest Commonwealth War Graves Cemetery containing all the Australians found in the mass grave at Pheasant Wood, Fromelles.

Located on the Fromelles battlefield with the iconic Cobber's Statue.

Stop At: VC Corner Australian Cemetery, 91 rue Delval Next to the Australian Memorial Park, 59249 Fromelles France
Located on no-man's land at Fromelles. Where 1299 Australian missing from the disastrous Battle of Fromelles are commemorated.

Stop At: Christmas Truce Memorial, Chemin du Mont de la Hutte, Comines-Warneton Belgium
The official site of the 1914 Christmas Truce.

The ridge blown apart by 19 Allied mines in 1917.

Stop At: Hill 60, Zwarteleenstraat 36-40, Ieper (Ypres) 8902 Belgium
Walk through the massive crater created by an underground mine in 1917, represented in the book / film "Beneath Hill 60".

Stop At: Brothers In Arms Memorial, Lotegatstraat 14/26, Zonnebeke 8980 Belgium
Born from the fierce passion of a local Belgian, the memorial is dedicated to all the brothers that fought on the Western Front.

Stop At: Buttes New British Cemetery, Polygon Wood, Lange Dreve, Zonnebeke 8980 Belgium
Polygon Wood, the site of the ANZAC Day Dawn Service in Belgium and the location of the 5th Australian Division Memorial.

Regarded as the best museum on the Western Front.
Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Tyne Cot Cemetery, Tynecotstraat, Zonnebeke 8980 Belgium
The largest Commonwealth Cemetery in the world;

Stop At: Menin Gate Memorial, Menenstraat Poort gebouw, Ieper (Ypres) 8900 Belgium
Where the Commonwealth missing in Belgium a commemorated.

Dinner is in the old town of Ypres.

Stop At: Last Post ceremony, Menin Gate, Ieper (Ypres) Belgium
The very emotive Last Post Ceremony, performed by the locals every day since 1928. A perfect way the end a Western Front visit.
